Rural Income Comparison 2011-2009
The following tables show the change in income for six rural household types between 2011 and 2009. Click on the links below for each household to see how income has changed in the period between 2009 and 2011.
The cut to social welfare payments, the introduction of the Universal Social Charge and the cut to Child Benefit has meant that households have seen a fall in income between 2011 and 2009. However, the rate at which the state pension is paid has not changed in the 2009 - 2011 period and as a result pensioners income remains largely unchanged.
