Summary
The VPSJ’s Budget 2018 Pre-Budget Submission highlights the primary findings from the MESL 2017 Update, and makes policy recommendations for a suite of measures based on these findings.
The recommendations made in this submission are set out with the aim of moving toward eradicating deep income inadequacy by 2020. The recommended adjustments are based on analysis identifying the household types with the greatest degree of income inadequacy and the gaps in social welfare provision which drive the inadequacy.
